Virtual Presentation via Zoom

As people of faith continue to show up in public actions across the state, many are asking how to build towards change. Join us for April’s Taking a Faithful Stand webinar to learn about concrete actions you can take on the local level to feed the hungry, care for the sick, and welcome the neighbor. This will include presentations about organizing against 287g agreements (ICE and law enforcement collaboration), 4th amendment workplace/business organizing, and county board-level organizing for rural and urban communities.

Speaker: Kole Torres is the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager for the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, a role she has held since March 2024. In this position, she advances inclusive practices and supports civic engagement efforts that promote equitable participation in democracy.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Kole is a first-generation college graduate with a passion for cultural awareness and community education. She earned a BA in History and Philosophy and an MA in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies. Throughout her academic and professional career, she has dedicated significant time to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, developing programming and trainings that encourage dialogue, advocacy, and cross-cultural understanding.

In addition to her professional role, she co-leads and collaborates with several pro-immigrant coalitions across Wisconsin, working on advocacy efforts related to 287(g) agreements and helping build community defense and rapid response networks, including collaboration with the Wisconsin Safe Roads & Communities Coalition.
